Aspire Booster Club Meeting Minutes

Date:     June 5th & 6th, 2009

Attendees:  Denise McDonald, Betsy Braulich, Gidget Hagenberger, Leslie Urhahn, Kristi Mead, Beverly Parkerson & all potential /future booster club members

Meeting called to order at 7:00pm

Introduction:

All the board members introduced themselves as follows:

Denise McDonald – President

Gidget Hagenberger – Vice President

Betsy Braulich – Treasurer

Beverly Parkerson – 1st Member at Large, and Asst. Treasurer

Leslie Urhahn – Fundraising Coordinator

Kristi Mead – Secretary

One position of Parent Team Coordinator is open and will be voted on today:

(The two nominees’ were Kristi Sloan, and Amy O’Brien: Voting was counted after meeting by all Board Members, and Amy O’Brien was voted as the Parent Team Coordinator - Amy declined the position.  Kristi Sloan will be the Parent Team Coordinator for the 2009/2010 Season.)

By Laws, Membership Packet, June Calendar, Schwann Flyer, Fred’s Hickory Inn Flyer, Individual Financial Statement, and Financial Information. 

Membership Information Highlighted in the Meeting:

The 4 things asked of members:

1.       Attend the annual  Booster Club meeting

2.       Sign the signature document on the back page of packet (All forms and dues must be in by June 15th)

3.       Pay membership dues of $5

4.       Keep your booster club account in a positive balance

June 5th – Annual Meeting, Friday, 7pm rec floor @ Aspire

August 7th – Friday, 7pm upstairs @ Aspire

Sept 5th – Saturday, 9am upstairs @ Aspire

October 3rd – Saturday, 9am upstairs @ Aspire

Nov 7th – Saturday, 9am upstairs @ Aspire

Dec 4th – Wednesday, 6pm upstairs @ Aspire

Jan 6th – Wednesday, 6pm upstairs @ Aspire

Fundraising:

The goal this year is to get as much money fundraised with as few of fundraisers as possible.  There are several fundraisers that are constant:

Schwann’s, Restaurant of the Month, Chick-fil-A, Resilite orders, decals, suckers, etc.

These fundraisers will put money(depending on how much is raised) in all members of good standing’s folders at the end of every quarter.

Other fundraisers will be based on volunteering of family to earn the funds to put in your booster club account.

Your Family Number:

On the purple folders handed out tonight there is a number.  That number will be what is referenced for financial billing purposes. 

Suggestion Box:

There are two black boxes on the wall at the next to the Café window.  There is a payment box and a suggestion box.  Please feel free to drop any suggestions in the box.

Sign-ups for Volunteering:

There are sheets at the table for you to sign up to volunteer for any committee.  The committees include: End of year Banquet, Kick off Party, Fundraising, & Team Parents.  Please help us be a better organization  by volunteering a bit of your time.
